People with blood type O more protected against COVID-19

According to this article, several studies have researched the link that genetics plays in susceptibility to contracting the virus, and some more specifically have linked the role played by blood type.

The studies in Europe and China all came to a similar conclusion: People with blood type O have a slightly less of a chance of getting COVID-19. Currently it’s looking at around 10% less of a chance.

If a person with blood type A transmits the virus to a person with type O blood, the type O person will have antibodies that can fight the virus.

A big piece of research was performed by the DNA-testing company 23andMe who are still recruiting volunteers who had the virus.
